Kent State pounded out 19 hits for 13 runs in a 13-2 Mid-American Conference baseball win over visiting Western Michigan on Sunday. The Golden Flashes (19-8, 4-2) used an eight-run fourth inning to help starting pitcher Eli Kraus (Buckeye) improve to 5-1 this season.
Zarley Zalewski went 4-for-5, including a double, and Luke Burch hit three singles. Five other Golden Flashes had two hits, including Brad Hamilton who hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Maddy Grimm’s 2-out solo home run in the top of the seventh, let Kent State (22-10, 5-1) get past host Northern Illinois (23-10, 4-2) 4-3 in a MAC series finale.
