Kent State’s streak of 12 consecutive wrestling victories over Buffalo came to an end Sunday at Alumni Arena, where the Bulls prevailed in six matches en route to a 23-12 dual win.
In their Mid-American Conference opener, the Golden Flashes (1-2) won three of the final four matches, including Devin Nye’s 6-4 decision over previously unbeaten Jake Gunning, the MAC’s top-ranked 285-pounder.
Other KSU winners were Chance Driscoll at 141 pounds, Jairod James (174) and Jerald Spohn (184). James, a sophomore, improved to 12-3.
