OXFORD, OH- The Kent State Golden Flashes' comeback came up three points shy on Saturday afternoon in a 27-24 setback to the Miami RedHawks at Yager Stadium.
The Red Hawks (3-3, 1-1) jumped out to a 17-0 first-quarter start using a pair of big plays on offense and a blocked field goal on special teams to get out to the early lead.
Kent State (2-4, 1-1) responded midway through the second quarter when Devontez Walker got free and was left all alone for a 27-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-7. Walker had a career day with 11 catches for 159 yards and two scores.
