KENT, OHIO- Every Kent State starter had at least one hit and scored at least one run in a 17-9 series-opening victory on Friday afternoon over the host Western Michigan Broncos.
Michael McNamara slugged two of the Flashes' four homers on Friday and drove in a team-high six. Justin Kirby drove in four as he and Josh Johnson connected on the other two long balls.
Kent State erased an early 2-0 Bronco lead with a single tally in the second and a five-run outburst in the third. McNamara started the scoring with a run-scoring double in the second and capped the five-run third with his first homer of the day, a two-run shot off the batter's eye in center.
