CLEVELAND – Kent State's Kyle Conel (Ashtabula, Ohio) was given two honors by the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday, after going 4-0 at the Virginia Duals this past weekend. Conel was named Wrestler of the Week and Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Helping the Golden Flashes finish 3-1 at the Virginia Duals, Conel was the only Kent State wrestler to go 4-0. His last two victories clinched dual meet wins for the Flashes along with a Silver Bracket title. Conel topped Austin Coburn 6-2, in Kent State's 23-13 victory over No. 24 Old Dominion in the Silver Bracket finals.
