Let’s play three. And while we’re at it, might as well win them all.
That is just what fourth-seeded Kent State (32-26) did Saturday. The Golden Flashes won an improbable three games in a row out of the losers bracket to capture the Mid-American Conference softball championship Saturday at Firestone Stadium.
The last two were against the team that defeated the Flashes Friday — second-seeded Ohio University (39-16) — capped by a 3-0 title-clinching victory.
The first step, according to KSU coach Eric Oakley, was convincing his players they could actually pull it off.
“I don’t know that I did,” he said.
