CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference presented Kent State with the Jacoby Trophy Wednesday night, for excellence in women's competition during the 2015-16 academic year. With 10 sports, the Golden Flashes carried a score of 9.525 to lead all MAC institutions. Eastern Michigan came in second at 8.409.
Kent State won conference championships in field hockey, gymnastics, golf and softball. The Flashes also earned an East Division title from volleyball, got an East Division runner-up finish in soccer and placed third at the indoor track & field championships.
"This is a direct reflection of the hard work our student-athletes and coaches continue to put forth," said Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen.
