Junior Dom Iero ripped an RBI triple in the top of the night to lead Kent State to a 3-2 win over Toledo in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Baseball Tournament on Thursday night at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon.
Iero’s triple scored junior Conner Simonetti, who had singled and moved to second on a ground out by Tim Dalporto.
Senior Tim Faix, who pitched the last three innings, blanked the Rockets in the bottom of the ninth and earned the win. Faix allowed only one walk and struck out two in relief of KSU starter Andy Ravel.
