PITTSBURGH-The Pitt Panthers used the long ball to snap the Golden Flashes' 13-game win streak in a 8-3 setback on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes limited the Panthers to only five hits on the day, but three of them left the yard, accounting for all eight Panther runs. Pitt scored all eight of their runs in the middle innings after Aidan Longwell went nine-up, nine-down in his three frames of mid-week work and running his scoreless streak to 11 consecutive innings.
Kent State struck first on Wednesday, getting a two-out, run-scoring double off the bat of Justin Miknis to plate Kyle Jackson.
