CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior Emily Lippe blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Kent State was unable to complete the late rally and fell to Georgia Tech, 7-4, in the team's final game at the Queen City Classic on Sunday.
The Golden Flashes (4-10) scored the first runs of the game in the bottom of the third. Graduate student Jada Crittendon got the frame started with a single and then stole second base. Freshman Brynn Libler then drew a walk and senior Julia Mazanec hit a double down the left field line to plate Crittendon.
