OXFORD, Miss. – After allowing three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Kent State was unable to score in the seventh and fell to Southeastern Louisiana, 6-5, in the final game at the Ole Miss Classic on Sunday.
The Golden Flashes (7-7) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth when sophomore Bri Despines hit a single and senior Emily Lippe followed with a double to right-center.
Sophomore Macy Irelan retired the first six batters she faced and only two reached base over the first three innings before allowing singles to the first four batters in the bottom of the fourth as the Lions took a 2-1 lead.
