Leitner’s Career Day at the Plate Leads Kent State in Series Finale at WMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kent State redshirt sophomore Kendal Leitner reached safely in all four trips to the plate and recorded a career-high six RBIs, but Western Michigan scored once in each of the final two innings for a walk-off 7-6 victory in the series rubber match on Sunday.

The Golden Flashes scored in the top of the first for the fourth consecutive game, as junior Brynn Libler singled and advanced on an error before scoring on Leitner's first hit of the day.

Western Michigan took the lead on a three-run homer in the bottom of the first.
