Ladines One-Hits Falcons in Series Opener

Box Score

KENT, Ohio – Seniors Ronnie Ladines carried a no-hitter into the top of the seventh inning as Kent State earned a 2-0 victory over Bowling Green on Friday at the Diamond at Dix. The Golden Flashes officially punched their ticket to next week's Mid-American Conference Tournament with the victory.

Ladines (14-13), who was named Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I National Pitcher of the Week after recording a perfect game and a one-hitter, threw her third consecutive shutout and had 10 strikeouts.

After Ladines got the first batter of the game to hit a grounder back to her, BG's Haley Schrock drew a full-count walk to snap a streak of 28 straight batters retired for the Flashes' ace.
