CHARLESTON, S.C. –The Kent State baseball team (3-5) won its third consecutive game, topping The Citadel (2-5), 11-2, Wednesday evening. Redshirt freshman Peyton Deats (1-0) recorded his first career win on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out three batters.
The Flashes tallied a season-high 14 hits and seven walks with nine batters notching a base hit and eight collecting an RBI. All ten Flashes that went to the plate reached base. Senior Josh Hollander led the Kent State offense, going 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Ben Carew, senior Pavin Parks, and junior Alex Ronnebaum added two hits apiece in the win.
