KENT: Kent State senior Nate Holley has been suspended indefinitely from the football team after he was arrested Friday on a felony kidnapping charge.
Holley was arraigned Monday after the alleged incident with another Kent State student Thursday. The charge could result in a first-degree felony. Portage County judge Barbara Oswick set his bond at $50,000.
The Record Courier first reported the arrest Monday morning.
Holley, a safety, leads Division I football in solo tackles with 80 and has assisted on 31 more.
“We are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously,” Kent State spokesman Eric Mansfield said in a formal statement.
