Kent State senior safety Nate Holley was arrested Friday afternoon on the alleged charges of first-degree felony kidnapping.
The incident—which took place Thursday afternoon—involved an unnamed female Kent State student.
The Portage County Municipal Court defines kidnapping as "did by force, threat, or deception... restrain another of her liberty, which creates a risk of serious physical harm to the victim."
"We are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously," University spokesman Eric Mansfield said in a statement. "He has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
