Kent State hosted its national qualifier Saturday afternoon in the Field House, and the Flashes took first place in eight events.
Riak Reese took first in two events with a time of 6.75 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 20.99 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
“I haven’t really been focused on my place finish,” Reese said. “I’ve been more focused on how I’m executing my race and how I’m running, like my times and everything. It’s nice to win, but I don’t really pay too much attention to the wins.”
“I’m just trying to be prepared for the national stage,” he continued.
