CLEVELAND — The Kent State field hockey team has been voted to finish second in the Mid-American Conference in 2022, as the conference office announced the preseason coaches' poll Monday morning.
The Golden Flashes totaled of 52 points in the poll, finishing eight behind fellow 2021 regular season co-champion Miami. The RedHawks received five first-place votes, with Kent State (1) and Longwood (2) also receiving votes.
Head coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer enters her fourth season leading the Flashes with a veteran unit that is highlighted by senior Maria Cambra Soler, an All-MAC First Team performer in 2021.
