KENT: Kent State sophomore guard Jaylin Walker had no choice but to foul sophomore forward Jaylen Key.
Walker finished Tuesday’s game against Northern Illinois with a game-high 22 points, but he couldn’t convert two critical shots in the Golden Flashes’ 74-70 overtime loss to Northern Illinois at the M.A.C. Center. After his second miss — for a game-tying 3-pointer with just 18 seconds remaining in OT — he had to foul Key, who sunk a free throw to put the game out of the reach.
Walker also missed a jumper at the end of regulation that would’ve given Kent State (9-7, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) the victory.
