Kent State men’s basketball: Golden Flashes trying to stop downward momentum against Northern Illinois

Two foot injuries appear to have derailed the season for the Kent State men’s basketball team, and the Golden Flashes are frantically trying to reverse their negative momentum.

The Flashes shot out to a 6-1 record in Mid-American Conference play and held an early lead in the East. But guard Xavier Pollard fell awkwardly on Jan. 29 against Ohio and required surgery for a fractured foot and guard Jaylin Walker has been dealing with a sprained foot.

Pollard is likely done for the season, though KSU coach Rob Senderoff hasn’t ruled out a return in the MAC Tournament.
