Kent: Scratch a 73-year itch and kick off the Gulf Coast Showcase with a no-doubt-about it win.
The Kent State men’s basketball team took care of both Friday at the MAC Center in a wire-to-wire 111-55 victory over Hiram.
While the Golden Flashes (3-0) and Terriers (1-1) have met in scrimmages before, the two last played a game that counts during the 1942-43 season. Hiram won that game, the third-to-last of the season, 43-35.
Funny what over seven decades will do to a program as the Flashes jumped out early and never let off the gas.
