Cleveland: For senior forward Jimmy Hall, the physicality of Kent State’s 68-65 win over Buffalo was simple.
The sixth-seeded Golden Flashes survived a slugfest against the third-seeded Bulls in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals late Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena, but it didn’t come easy: The teams were whistled for 56 personal fouls and combined for 75 free-throw attempts.
The Flashes (20-13, 10-8) advanced to play No. 2 Ohio in Friday’s 8 p.m. semifinal.
Hall, who said he gets lost in the flow of the game, didn’t even remember the last two free throws he made to seal the victory, but each one was vital.
