Kent State University student-athletes logged 4,995 hours of community service during the 2018-19 academic year and placed 18th nationally among NCAA Division I schools in the year's Helper Helper Report.
Student-athletes at Kent State ranked 18th out of the 100 Division I institutions that competed in the competition. The Golden Flashes completed more hours of community service than any other Mid-American Conference member with six teams finishing in the top-10 of their respective sport. Volleyball placed third overall among women's teams.
"I am very proud of the time and effort that the student-athletes have put forth this past year through community service," said Katie Schilling, associate director for student-athlete development.
