KENT: A week removed from a heartbreaking loss to rival Akron, Kent State coach Paul Haynes will lead the Golden Flashes to Buffalo Saturday hoping to turn around the season.
The Flashes (1-4, 0-1 Mid-American Conference) — who lost 18-17 to the Bulls a year ago — have already dropped two games after holding fourth-quarter leads this season. Last week, they fell 31-27 to the rival Zips despite scoring a go-ahead touchdown with 1:02 remaining.
Haynes lamented the Flashes’ difficulties finishing close games.
“We talked about finishing games and continuing to get better,” Haynes said at his Monday press conference.
