KENT: When prospective football recruits make their first visit to the Kent State campus, head coach Paul Haynes and his staff take them bowling at nearby Twin Star Lanes.
“It’s a way to break the ice,” Haynes said on Wednesday. “Everywhere I’ve been, that Friday night that the people come on campus is the first time these players and families have been around a lot of the other coaches and players. It was kind of a cheese and wine operation. It’s real tight, real intense. Nobody wants to talk. Everybody wants to make sure they are using the right fork and right spoon and all that kind of deal.
