KENT: Kent State coach Paul Haynes admits his team is facing a tall task.
The Golden Flashes — still reeling from consecutive losses decided in the final minutes — travel to Central Michigan for a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday.
The losses left the Flashes 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the MAC.
The Chippewas (5-3, 2-2 MAC) are coming off a 31-17 loss to Toledo, but are 23-10 all-time against KSU, including a 27-14 victory last season.
The Chippewas are led by senior quarterback Cooper Rush, who passed for more than 2,200 yards and 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions.
