KENT: For the second week in a row, Kent State coach Paul Haynes and his team watched game tape of a heartbreaking loss.
The Golden Flashes (2-6, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) did all of their scoring in the second half against Ohio on Saturday, but the Bobcats (5-3, 3-1) held on for a 14-10 win at Dix Stadium.
Fifth-year senior receiver Ernest Calhoun, playing on special teams, scooped up a muffed punt with just over five minutes to play to give the Flashes the ball at the Ohio 12-yard line. With a chance to take their first lead of the game, but Flashes stalled.
