MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Kent State dropped its first five-setter of the season on Tuesday night in a road match at Robert Morris, 3-2 (25-14, 25-16, 22-25, 15-25, 12-15).
The Golden Flashes (5-3) dominated the first two sets of the night to take a 2-0 lead into intermission behind 28 kills and a .375 hitting percentage. However, Kent State only recorded 22 kills and a .033 hitting percentage over the final three sets.
Freshman Kathryn Ellison led the Flashes with 14 kills and 15 digs for her third double-double of the season to go with three blocks and two aces.
