Myrtle Beach, SC... The Kent State men's golf team began this year's General Hackler Championship with a bang, rifling out of the gates to a top-four finish through the first two rounds on Monday.
The Flashes were led by senior Cade Breitenstine, who carded a team-best 66 in the second round to rapidly ascend the leaderboard, gaining 29 spots to end the day in a tie for ninth.
Breitenstine wasn't too far ahead of teammates Chris Vandette and Ben MacLean who ended the middle round three and two strokes under par respectively, ensuring that three Flashes will enter the final day of competiiton in the top 25.
