TOLEDO, Ohio — Kent State was unable to sustain an efficient offensive performance in the first quarter and dropped the final game of the regular season to Mid-American Conference champion Toledo, 83-61, on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes (18-10, 13-5 MAC) received a strong performance from graduate student Mikala Morris, who matched her season high with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Sophomore Dionna Gray and redshirt senior Katie Shumate also scored in double-figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Kent State made seven of eight shots during a stretch late in the first quarter to build an eight-point lead before holding a 23-16 advantage at the end of the period.
