KENT, Ohio- The Kent State men's basketball team powered their way past visiting Oberlin College for a 41-48 win Monday afternoon for the final non-conference game of the season.
Kent State improved to 11-2 on the season, its best start since the 2002-03 season.
It was a balanced scoring effort for the Flashes in their final game of the calendar year as junior Philip Whittington led all scorers with a career-high 18 points and added 11 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. Senior Jaylin Walker scored 14, and junior Antonio Williams and freshman Anthony Roberts both added nine points.
