FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Kent State began its spring break trip by taking both games of a doubleheader from Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes (9-13) won the first game, 11-1, in five innings and completed the sweep by winning the nightcap in six innings, 8-0.
The pitching staff limited the Mastodons to just two hits on the day and recorded 18 strikeouts to only three walks.
Kent State batters showed patience at the plate, totaling eight walks and six hits in each game. Junior Julia Mazanec led the way by going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
