YPSILANTI, Mich. — Kent State fought back from an 11-point lead in the first quarter to earn a 75-67 road victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes (19-8, 11-5 MAC) were led by senior Katie Shumate and graduate student Hannah Young, who both shot 3-of-4 from behind the three-point arc. Shumate scored 23 points to match her season-high and grabbed nine rebounds. Young finished with 17 points.
Eastern Michigan made eight of its first 11 shots, including four from three-point range, and led 20-9 just over seven minutes into the contest.
