Kent State’s baseball team was able to carry over some positive momentum from last weekend’s series against Florida Gulf Coast University.
Going into the game, Winthrop was undefeated with an 8-0 record. The Flashes arrived at Rock Hill, South Carolina and were able to defeat the Eagles Friday, 5-2.
Sophomore pitcher Luke Albright took home the win for the Flashes as he pitched a dominant six complete innings with no earned runs allowed.
Kent State’s offense was fueled by the bats of junior Michael Turner and sophomore Collin Mathews who had two hits each in the game, both with an RBI as well.
