ESTERO, Fla.: Jaylin Walker scored 15 points, including a crucial jumper late, Jimmy Hall had 11 points and nine rebounds and Kent State beat Wofford 66-59 on Wednesday.
Kent State committed a season-low five turnovers, outrebounded Wofford 44-35 and made 11-of-22 second-half shots.
Walker made a 3-pointer to cap a 13-5 spurt that put the Golden Flashes (4-2) ahead 56-51 with 4:30 left. Fletcher Magee’s 3-pointer nearly a minute later made it 56-54 before a jumper by Hall gave the Flashes a 58-54 lead with 2:52 to play. After Wofford missed two clean 3-pointers, Walker made a baseline jumper with 1 second left on the shot clock to push the lead to six with a minute remaining.
