FARMVILLE, VA – The Kent State field hockey team (7-7, 5-1 MAC) wins 3-2 against Longwood (3-12, 1-5 MAC) this evening after double overtime and a shootout.
In the first quarter, Katie Wuerstle scored the first goal of the game to put the Golden Flashes on the scoreboard. The Lancers and Flashes went scoreless in the second quarter. In the first half Kent State led in shots 5-1. Maria Cambra Soler scored her fourth goal of the season off a penalty corner, giving the Golden Flashes a 2-0 lead, in the third quarter.
