KENT, Ohio — Kent State's Alexa Golden was named as a nominee for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award, the NCAA announced on Wednesday (June 26).
Golden, a four-year member of the women's basketball program, is among a record 585 female college athletes nominated by NCAA member schools for this year's award across all three NCAA divisions. Established in 1991 and now in its 29th year, the NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.
