BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Kent State rallied from an early 19-point deficit and earned a thrilling double-overtime victory over Bowling Green, 96-86, inside of the Stroh Center on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Flashes (17-10, 10-6) moved into a tie for first place in the Mid-American Conference East Division with two games remaining in the regular season.
After freshman Nila Blackford extended the contest with a layup to beat the buzzer in overtime, Kent State scored the first 11 points in the second extra session. Freshman Katie Shumate, who assisted on Blackford's tying basket, poured in a career-best 27 points.
