KENT- A six-run second inning by the Clarion Golden Eagles was too much to overcome, as the Flashes fell 10-5 on a cold Wednesday night at Schoonover Stadium.
Tim Orr led the offense with a two-hit night and a pair of runs scored while Kyle Jackson reached base three times and stole a bag.
On the bump, Evan Shapiro had his strongest outing of the year, tossing three scoreless innings of relief and led the staff with five strikeouts. Kent State pitchers fanned 11 Golden Eagles on Wednesday.
The loss moves Kent State to 20-19 on the year.
