The Kent State field hockey team (0-2) is back at Murphy-Mellis Field for the 2023 home opener against Michigan State on Friday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. The Flashes then take on UC Davis on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 12 p.m.
About the Flashes
In the season opener against No. 14 Liberty last week, Kent State fell 2-0. In the second quarter, the Flames were awarded a penalty stroke after a corner. Goalkeeper Cecile van Eijck dove to make the save and keep the score 1-0 at the half. The Flashes also fell in a close match up against VCU, 1-0, despite outshooting (8-7) and having the lead in corners (7-3).
