KENT, Ohio – The Kent State football team (3-5, 2-2 MAC) fell short of a late-game comeback against the Miami Redhawks (4-4, 3-1 MAC), as the Flashes fell, 23-16, in the rain at Dix Stadium.
The Flashes set a season-high with 84 plays ran but averaged only 4.0 yards per play.
The Redhawks jumped out to an early lead, taking a 6-0 advantage on two Sam Sloman field goals.
Dustin Crum saw his current NCAA lead of most pass attempts in a row without an interception come to an end when Miami's Travion Banks picked him off on a deep ball.
