KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought to the visiting Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0.
Oakland opened the scoring in the 16th minute, sneaking a shot past goalkeeper Sarah Melén. The Flashes were able to create multiple opportunities for themselves through the midfield but could not find a way to get the ball in the back of the net. In the 87th minute, Oakland put the game out of reach, scoring a backbreaker to seal their win.
Kent State was able to generate 12 shots on the day and kept pressure on the Oakland defense all afternoon.
