KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University baseball team topped Malone (20-11, 10-4 GMAC) 14-6 in a midweek matchup at Schoonover Stadium Tuesday evening. The Flashes collected a season-high 16 walks, eight hits and six hit batters in the victory, snapping the Pioneers' 10-game winning streak.
The Flashes jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, seeing the full lineup step to the plate. Redshirt sophomore Ben Carew led off with a bunt-single and stole his eleventh base of the season. He advanced to third on a wild pitch before junior Cam Touchette knocked him in with a single through the left side.
