ATHENS, Ohio – Kent State senior Challen Geraghty placed her name in the NCAA Division I record as just the 26th player all-time to reach 2,400 career digs on Thursday during Kent State's match at Ohio.
Entering the night in need of just seven digs to join the exclusive group of defensive studs, Geraghty led all players with 19 digs as the Golden Flashes lost 3-0 (23-25, 23-25, 20-25). She now has 2,413 digs, which ranks 24th, and could climb another five spots before her career ends.
"This is a great accomplishment and a testament to her longevity," said head coach Don Gromala.
