CLEVELAND, Ohio – Libero Erin Gardner has started her sophomore campaign with back-to-back Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday evening.
Gardner averaged 6.90 digs per set and was named to the Golden Flashes Classic All-Tournament Team. Her career-high 37 digs Saturday morning against Idaho State are the seventh-most in Kent State history and second-most by any player in the country in a four-set match this season. Gardner recorded her first career double-double on Friday night with 32 digs and career-best 10 assists in the Flashes' victory over Valparaiso.
