KENT, OHIO- Four Kent State teams (Men's Cross Country, Softball, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics) received the NCAA Public Recognition Award for academic excellence. Those four teams scored a perfect 1000 over the four-year period from 2015-19, highlighting the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) release from the NCAA.
Public Recognition Awards are based on a program's most recent (four-year) multiyear APRs, awarded to teams posting scores in the top-10 percent of their sport. The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division-I sports teams, measuring eligibility, graduation and retention.
The NCAA's latest report marks the sixth-consecutive year at least four Kent State teams earned a perfect multi-year APR score.
