YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Kent State had four student-athletes earn first-place as the track and field program returned to action Friday at the YSU Collegiate Invitational.
Christian Champen cleared 17'-0.5" to win the men's pole vault and set a new Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) facility record. Champen was successful on each of his first three attempts but was unable to clear the bar at what would have been a school record height of 17'-6.25". Mitchell Kubicki tied for second with a top height of 15'-11.75".
The Golden Flashes also took the top two spots in the women's shot put.
