KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (5-9, 2-2 MAC) won 18-12 against Akron (5-8, 0-3 MAC) this afternoon.
After a back and forth battle in the first, the Zips led 5-3. Peyton Gellin, Zayda Crumpton, and Meghan Haddow scored for the Flashes.
In the second quarter, Kent State went on a six goal scoring streak with goals by Jackie Wolford, Morgan Halli (2), Crumpton (2), and Allie Lee to take the lead 9-6. Before halftime, the Flashes led in shots (17-13) and draw controls (9-8).
