Clifton Park, N.Y. - Kent State improved to 5-0 with dual meet victories over Virginia and Hofstra Saturday at the Journeymen Northeast Duals inside Shenendehowa High School. Three down-to-the-wire matches went in the Golden Flashes favor in a 20-18 win over Virginia, including a pair of overtime victories.
In the afternoon showdown, the Flashes won eight straight matches in a 26-12 victory over Hofstra. On the day, Kent State took 14-of-18 matches decided on the mat as the Flashes forfeited 125 pounds in both duals.
"We wore them out at times," Head Coach Jim Andrassy said.
