KENT, Ohio – It took some time to get well ahead, but Kent State (17-6) posted a seven-run 8th inning to capture its first home win of the season in a 9-1 contest against Lake Erie College (5-13).
The Golden Flashes took advantage with a run in the 4th on singles by Dylan Rosa, Pete Schuler and Tim DalPorto, who earned the game's first RBI. DalPorto also earned what would be the game-winning RBI when he walked with bases loaded. Rosa also scored that run as he led off with a single and Conner Simonetti and Schuler walked behind him.
